Sometimes happiness is like a forgotten peppermint in your school jacket pocket.

When Arnelia and her mother moved from Cape Town to Potchefstroom, she decided this was the ideal opportunity to rewrite the screenplay of her life. A new town and a new school are the perfect opportunity to redesign herself. A new leaf to beat. Operation New Arnelia. Oprah will be proud.

Unfortunately, her plans went awry from the start when she dropped belly and legs with arms full of food at the school’s entrepreneur day. On top of that, there is a group of girls who are clearly determined to make life difficult for her.

And then there’s Dewald. The brunette peasant boy with the crooked smile who knows how to make crêpes suzette, tiramisu and onion jam. He makes Arnelia’s heart do strange things, even though she knows he will not look at a girl like her twice.

However, when Dewald’s life is unexpectedly turned on its head, Arnelia and her friends intervene. Thanks to an old golden yellow kombi, a shop doll named Saartjie and a bunch of fantastic recipes, they start a mobile tuck shop at school. The Snoeperheroes took the school by storm with all sorts of exciting pop food and fun ideas.

But when Arnelia out of the blue plays a major role in the school’s production of Hairspray, her new friendships are tested to the limit, and she is forced to face her difficult relationship with her father…
